DESCRIPTION
This is an innovative, multi-expressive work, presented at the Thetis Space gardens inside the Venice Arsenal during the 2010 Architectural Biennale in the Culture- Naturex collateral show.
The installation concerns nature and its union with culture updating the concepts of nature, agriculture, energy, design and eco-compatibility.
Shapes, materials, lines, signs, show themselves to be complementary and opposite: glass, wood, steel, all speak of a planet built by man in divergence or agreement with nature.
A central vertical element that grows from the ground, bears the mark of a yellow “bud”, centrepiece of the surrounding nectar around which the petals take shape. The reflections of light on the steel in the corners and on the surfaces create a myriad of facets of light which spread all through the work. The wood brings out the wavy structure that rises and falls in a game of fluid and continuous movement. The transparent glass form carves small visual glimpses for the spectator immersed in the sculpture and surrounding park. A series of LED lights allow the work to remain lit and continue to dialogue with
the night sky.
